Please read this before submitting your application.

The deadline for receiving grant applications is October 1 of each year. The grant applications will be reviewed and those chosen to receive a grant will be notified 4 to 6 weeks after the deadline date. No employee or family member of the Foundation is eligible to apply. Grant applications become property of The William T. Colville Memorial Foundation and will not be returned unless special arrangements are made.

Grant Recipients:
Grants are awarded for a broad range of projects and uses. One grant was awarded to a ceramicist to help her purchase her own kiln. Other current grant recipients include a woman with cancer who is using art as part of her therapy and a young man who creates public art with the participation of at-risk youth. The concept of "paying it forward" is part of the methodology of The Foundation - the idea is that grant recipients will, in turn, have something to offer other artists.

Grants are generally made in the amount of $2000.00 - large enough to have a real impact, but small enough to demand a real commitment on the part of the artist to make the most of the opportunity. The amount awarded is at the discretion of the board.

DUE TO A FIRE AT THE FOUNDATION OFFICE THE MATERIALS SHOULD BE MAILED TO 414 LUGAR DEL CONSUELO, SANTA BARBARA CA. 93105

Along with the non-refundable $20.00  application fee we also need two letters of recommendation, an artists statement, a grant use proposal including a "do what by when timeline", your giveback, budget, and 4-8 photos of your work, include one of yourself working.
